    .KEY MESSAGES...

    - Terrain-Driven Convection Today: An amplifying ridge removes large-scale forcing, but entrenched monsoonal moisture will support mainly isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains and highlands, producing localized gusty winds and brief moderate downpours.
